After we hiked down to the river we walked the boardwalk to get a good look at the river at the falls from below. Gigi took it all in through the slats of the fence.

Snoqualmie Falls was quite spectacular in early May. Joe took us for a nice drive on Mother’s Day, after our treats for breakfast, and we all enjoyed a good hike on a surprisingly warm spring afternoon.

Joe really did try for a cute picture of me and the kids at the falls, and they were cute, and silly and not in the mood for a more serious pose. We took our hike after this picture was taken–Al and Gigi clearly had plenty of energy.

I’m so far behind in posting pictures I thought I’d start with some of my favorites from May. Here the kids enjoyed some sweet apples at the local Saturday market. We had browsed all the vendors, which included produce, though in May there wasn’t nearly as much as there is now, picked a few snacks and treats along with some tasty pizza, and then relaxed in the grass to enjoy some local music. After they ate, the kids ran freely in the grass, joining other kids doing the same. It was a leisurely afternoon in the sun.
We’ve been the market several times now this season, and the day they had these apples was opening weekend. We were so fortunate to have that early taste of summer, especially as June was more wet and chilly than not, but I’m getting ahead of myself now. More pictures to come…soon.

Al and Gigi didn’t waste any time starting to play in Al’s room. As it was getting late, we of course needed to get the kids to bed. Al wanted to know when I would put the toppings on the beds. We indeed did make up the beds and soon they were both tucked into their cozy beds.

March 7th we had the movers bring all the big furniture, and that would be the first night we’d sleep in our new home…definitely a bit odd, but good, too. The kids did sleep well that night and were quite excited.
