Gigi helped me bake a chocolate cake earlier this week. She discovered she likes the taste of unsweetened cocoa. She asks to have the cake for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and when she does get a small slice for a treat, she devours it.

With a trace of a chocolate mustache to prove it, Gigi showed me just how much she liked that cocoa! Yes, she is using a measuring spoon to test. Fortunately, we were done measuring ingredients.

Here are some pictures from our new (old!) house! We hope to document our remodeling. We will be working on flooring, painting, etc. in preparation to move into the house, hopefully by early March.
The flooring in both kitchen and laundry room is some kind of foam-backed flocked carpeting. We have something else in mind for flooring here!

What we hope to be lovely hardwood lurks beneath the shag carpet…I had almost this very same carpet in my bedroom in my parents house! Wish us luck pulling carpet and removing staples…

The wood cabinetry is really quite lovely. They are solid and in great shape. We think the white countertops are marble or some type of stone anyhow!

Although only partially visible, to the right is a barn-like storage shed. The house has no garage, but nice carport which could be converted into a garage.

We had a lovely, mild, and sunshine filled day on Monday. A holiday, a day off, a reason to celebrate. We spent the latter part of the morning and early afternoon with good friends who we haven’t seen in far too long. We finally met a new baby, who is now 4 months old. Baby Natalie was so sweet, smiling almost constantly and always content. Gigi wasn’t too sure what to make of Natalie, but I think she liked her!

Danielle loves the monkey bars. Her mom told me she uses them all the time at school now. We were really impressed with her strength, as she can get across without stopping and then go back for more!
